Gunfire erupted on Tuesday evening outside Altria Theater in downtown Richmond, Virginia, as a crowd of graduates and their families were attending the venue.
As noted in the video clip here, “A child Issue, not a political issue”; thus we should address this issue seriously and collectively regardless of our stances on politics, gun control, etc.
My late dad Dr. ASM Ijani (the amazing gentleman on my right, on Dadpuzzles podcast page) shared with me some important advice…”stay away from politics as it is a dirty game”.
To honor my father’s wisdom, I will not delve into issues of gun control, race issues, etc regarding what just happened.
All I can advise from Dadpuzzles’ perspective is that let us collectively create a peaceful society by first addressing ourselves, and fixing ourselves in the matters of gun control -if owning one, follow the correct recommendations; conflict resolution – be mature when dealing with conflicts and think about long-term consequences; drug use- avoiding influences that would lead us to violence and not forgiveness if you know someone already in the mess, offer some help by pointing to different available resources, etc; mental health- much can be said here, see our future segment; and last but not least spiritual “fixing” which includes attending your individual religions and peaceful beliefs.
My take is if we have these items solid, we can, in turn, have a stable and peaceful society comprised of blacks, whites, other races, democrats, republicans, etc.
